At Authoright, our aim is to do everything that an author needs. When we work with an author as publisher and publishing team, we do all or most of the following:
Project Manager
We only publish around 100 books a year. For us it’s all about quality, including the level of attention that we give each author. We know that authors are looking for help and guidance, to make sure that they don’t make the common mistakes that many authors make. That is why each author has a dedicated Project Manager for the whole production of their book — one point of contact throughout.
Editing
A copy edit is a careful, professional review of your manuscript before it moves into production. Your editor will correct spelling, punctuation and grammar, while also looking closely at clarity, consistency, repetition and flow. More detailed than proofreading, a copy edit helps ensure your book is as polished, accurate and professionally prepared as possible.
Cover Design
A book cover is often the first moment of connection between an author and a reader, so it matters. Our in-house designers work closely with authors to create original, professional and eye-catching covers that feel true to the book and right for its audience. Whether you arrive with a clear vision or are looking for creative guidance, we’ll help shape a cover that is visually striking, commercially aware and designed to stand proudly on the shelf.
Typesetting
Every detail of a book’s interior matters. From the choice of font to the size of the page, each decision plays a part in how the reader experiences your work. Our typesetters have worked with some of the world’s leading publishers — such as HarperCollins. They are highly experienced in creating interiors that are elegant, readable and professionally produced, ensuring the finished book feels right for its genre, its audience and the story being told.
Ebooks
We are the only hybrid publisher in the UK to be partnered with the heritage British publisher Faber and Faber through their impressive Faber Factory. We’ll publish your ebooks and distribute them worldwide to the most popular retailers including Amazon, Apple, Kobo and Google Play, not to mention Waterstones and B&N. We also have access to amazing promotions through Faber Factory with the biggest retailers.
Printing & Distribution
We work with the world’s largest printer, with headquarters in the UK and USA, known for their production standards and ability to meet paperback and hardback book orders with retailers around the globe. They are the single biggest supplier of printed books to Amazon. You are in great hands.
Marketing & Publicity
Targeted publicity campaigns are shaped around the angles most likely to capture media interest. Our team develops the story behind the book and coordinates media outreach through our extensive network of press and media contacts, working to secure the strongest possible coverage for each author. This can also include leading book bloggers and book reviewers, important for fiction titles.
Author Royalties
We pay the highest royalties of any publisher anywhere. That has been the case since day one. All of our authors benefit from royalties of 75% of net receipts from sales of paperbacks, hardbacks and ebooks. Always have, always will. This is three times as much as is typically paid by other publishers.
